Their stopping my wife's SSI because they think I made a huge amount of money in December and assume I will make this same amount in January. I  send them my pay print outs every month. Their stopping my wife's SSI because they think I made a huge amount of money in December and assume I will make this same amount in January. I  send them my pay print outs every month. So we have learned they have no idea how to read a payroll printout. So we have to appeal and I have to underline everything and show them how to interpret a print out. We must have gotten the SSI employee that went to public school and didn't bother with college..........

      Christl (aka "that woman") Buskohl-Johnson Gary, SSI is needs based, which is based on earned income from the person or spouse (if married) or parent (if a dependent). SSDI is based on a persons lifetime earnings, and spouse income is not counted.

But Mark, I don't recall our residents have other supporters ... Maybe so though, Dean had sisters; Brian had a dad ... Hum ... Good luck with your appeal. And the SSI's had a spenddown.

As far as the SSI worker: to error is human, to collect is divine. Also, on SSDI one usually is handicapped in some way, physically. Still, not much of a payout, just like regular SS.
