We are a community of sisters and brothers who vow to live Franciscan Spirituality. We are lay and cleric, female and male, married, and unmarried, partnered and celibate, honoring each as the very image of God. We choose the essence of the Primitive Rule of St. Francis as our rule. This rule was the heart of Francis, before Rome had her hand in changing it. It is absent of hierarchy. In as much as it applies to us today, we will follow thusly: To live a chaste, obedient, and simple life. Let all the sisters and brothers not have power or control especially among themselves; for, as the Lord says in the Gospel, "The rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones are tyrants over them." It will not be so among the sisters and brothers. Whoever wishes to be great among them must be their minister and servant. Whoever wishes to be first among them must be their slave.
