Every time I think I have everything I need for the trip, I find something else.  I have been told that I must have a bathing suit as I am going to get a swimming lesson every day.  I wasn't asked, I was told.  Do they honestly think that 8 days of swimmi...  moreEvery time I think I have everything I need for the trip, I find something else.  I have been told that I must have a bathing suit as I am going to get a swimming lesson every day.  I wasn't asked, I was told.  Do they honestly think that 8 days of swimming lessons is going to make up for 61+ years of NO SWIMMING?????  And I told them NOT in the ocean.  I don't mess with the Pacific ocean because the sharks in San Francisco Bay, and I don't trust the Atlantic Ocean any more than the Pacific.  (Actually, I am afraid of the water.  Really.  I just can't relax and float.)  I used to drink coffee on the Pacifica, CA pier, and make bets with other locals whether the idiots surfing out there (with the DANGER!!!! Shark Area signs posted every ten feet) were going to get eaten.   You know the people in Santa Cruz hate the Shark Cage entrepreneurs.  That is a big surfing area, and the people that do the "scuba dive in a shark cage and get up close to live sharks" chum the water.  A lot.    less

She makes jokes about it and doesn't use it as an excuse to whine. Once in a restaurant she pulled out her cane, unfolded it, and waved it around. Then she put it back away. When asked what she was doing, she said, "Oh, just taking a look around." She and I used to put on a benefit for the Earle Baum Center of the Blind every year. She's moved further away, and now I do the benefit for the Food Bank where I volunteer, but we still manage to get together once in awhile.  less

  • Reverend Tad Coffen Ph.D. What a long bizarre journey.  Dallas is now safe.  It took all these weeks to establish a safe place for him as well as his step mom to be that won't be now.  The perps family is a sick as him.... Child Protection Services is not protective.  I have an eleven year old child and a twenty three year old woman living with my family and I.  I am tired and showing wear.  The Lord is my fuel  and I will go the distance.  I really need sleep, this guys family is nuts. The guy has been charged with a bunch of felonies so he is in the distance to maintain his bail.  But the family is a three ring circus.  The system established for the safety of the community at large is NOT designed to do so.  The law must be broken first, then after the damage is done to a helpless child they MIGHT step it.  The cuts in funding were mentioned over and over.  The best interest and welfare of the child and young woman were very unimportant..
