Sandra Palmer Every time I think I have everything I need for the trip, I find something else.  I have been told that I must have a bathing suit as I am going to get a swimming lesson every day.  I wasn't asked, I was told.  Do they honestly think that 8 days of swimming lessons is going to make up for 61+ years of NO SWIMMING?????  And I told them NOT in the ocean.  I don't mess with the Pacific ocean because the sharks in San Francisco Bay, and I don't trust the Atlantic Ocean any more than the Pacific.  (Actually, I am afraid of the water.  Really.  I just can't relax and float.)  I used to drink coffee on the Pacifica, CA pier, and make bets with other locals whether the idiots surfing out there (with the DANGER!!!! Shark Area signs posted every ten feet) were going to get eaten.   You know the people in Santa Cruz hate the Shark Cage entrepreneurs.  That is a big surfing area, and the people that do the "scuba dive in a shark cage and get up close to live sharks" chum the water.  A lot.
