Bishop Michael Collins-Windsor, Ph.D.

I REALLY need to invest in a spill proof keyboard. Some things that I read cause coffee and Pepsi to act as projectiles from my mouth.  It's just so darn hard to swallow when laughing.

I had rather spend the rest of my life in jail than to go against my beliefs, my conscience, and the rights granted me by the founding fathers. Noone cared, in fact, most religions supported this. What about religions who do arrange marriages? And best yet, who is actually in charge on giving recognition of a certain religion? The government. The government controls what religions they will recognize and which one's not. It's this also a violation of the constitution? How about separation from church and state? As I have stated on my facebook post I dont care what a church does untill they start laying claim to wanting it to extend into their private sector businesses that employ many non member people. If it is extended that far what is the church going to refuse to do for its employees or demand their employees do outside the law of the land.

Now we could do this and make it simple by letting go of all women, that way it would not matter about the female contraception. Do you know how many women are on staff of every Church in the nation? This is not about the contraception issue for us as it is for the RC, it is about FREEDOM and LIBERTY and our continued rights given to us by the Constitution. The majority of the mainline Churches are standing together on this. And we are willing to go to jail over it. If a church hires an employee that is directly involving said church as in a receptionist maid or grounds keeper then they shouldnt be forced to deny or give ei birth control as long as it dont harm the employee. Being common practice those positions are filled from within the churches congregation. When they extend it into their private sector businesses like hospitals, printing companies, or manufacturing that employs non faith (meaning of said churches doctrine) employees it is a whole differant ball game.  less

We have private schools within our Church, food kitchens, and a private printing company as well that the Church runs. We do have some staff members that are not members of the Church but we gave them the same voice. We have 143 Pastors 3 who are women, we have 49 staff member within our Churches and another 41 staff members that work in the schools, soup kitchens and printing company. They all voted that we fight this. There are 13 staff members that do not attend our Church but work in these other facilities and they too all voted we fight this. We all feel the same way on this. We understand both sides of the coin, however, the fight for our rights given under the Constitution mean more. Most of the men were willing to go along with the issue to support the contraception clause if the women deemed it necessary, but we felt our freedom and our rights were more important. When the vote came about there was a 100% agreement to stand with the Catholic Church and the other demoninations in fighting this. Will the Westboro Baptist church be able to picket funerals right in the middle of ceremonies or stone gay people do death because it is something they believe. Those that are cult leaders in prison for acting in accodance with their beleifs have to be released. Those cult leaders went to prison for doing what they believed in too.

Personal Information

  • Ordination Date October 3, 1991
  • Personal Beliefs Our Church is a full gospel Pentecostal Charismatic Church that does not discriminate against anyone. On a personal note, I was originally ordained and licensed as a minister in a large Pentecostal Church denomination back in 1991, and left that Church, due to their beliefs on certain personal rights issues and a few issues I find very disturbing in many of today's Fundamental Churches. Almost 10 years later a handful of others and myself formed our denomination the Church of God (Johnstown, PA). I have been in constant and deep study of the Bible and religion as a whole since I was a boy, and am well qualified in theology, Biblical study, and the study of other religions. Although my Ph.D. is in another field, it has helped me to bridge gaps between religion and science. As a person well hmmm, let's see!!! For fun, I love to play golf, tennis, swim, workout, fence, box, hunt, fish, ski, go scuba diving, and take my sailboat out on the lake. I am an amature photographer, and love to take photos of our place here, the gardens, and the animals. I play the guitar and piano, and it really relaxes me on quiet evenings. My other half and I work a great deal with troubled pre-teens and teens, and I also teach boxing, health education and citizenship to the kids that are part of our Youth Program and Church. Young people are our future and helping to bring out the best in them is very rewarding. I love the Lord my God with all of my heart, mind, body and soul, and spirit and doing His work is where I find my joy and main happiness in life. Partnership is a rich word for me. It is more than simply linking churches together in districts or conferences. More appropriately, it is a “web of relationships” working together in mutual respect and trust. Partnership is characterized by deacons and elders, laity and clergy, those exhortered, ordained and those who are licensed, congregations and communities all fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. These temporal partnerships are simply a reflection of the divine partnership between Jesus Christ and the Church. For this reason, it is important to me, that we create an atmosphere of trust and collegiality with those who make up the context of ministry, reminding us that we are the Body of Christ. When we are in the presence of Christ, even in the midst of our diversity, we can be in a spirit of unity. If you want to know more, just ask, I am an open book. Thanks for reading this, and I wish you all the very best in life and what it has to offer I am always here to counsel and lend an ear to anyone. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. May God Bless you and yours.

  • Finding Truth

    Posted January 29

I took part in an online conference earlier this evening, where several men of God of various denominations, discussed issues facing the Church today.  I was struck by one brother's attempt to make explanation of what he claims as truth in some Scripture we were discussing.  If men who claim to believe the Bible would be honest en...

  • America - The Land of No Restraint!

    Posted January 16

If I were to ask you what has made America great, your reply would partially be based from the type of glasses you viewed the nation under when growing up in an America home. To a conservative business family, it is the free enterprise system. To the average socially liberal American, our greatness is our tolerance. To people of faith who love t...

Every day in my office I have a regular routine when I arrive. I am then briefed by my personal assistant as to what is going on business wise and in the news. I then turn on my computer, and Fox New...

  • Was Jesus Born On December 25th?

I have read the many posts and blogs concerning this same question here on the ULC and on other sites.  To be honest I did not want to even post on the subject until I read something sent to me just before Christmas.   Last year, in response to the growing number of Christians who celebrate Hanukkah but hate Christmas, ...

She told me she feels as if she is...

  • My Take On Tolerance.

    Posted November 25, 2011

For the past few months, the subject of "TOLERANCE" has been a major debating issue here on the ULC boards. I have read many blogs, polls, and other posts dealing with this subject, and everyone has their take on this subject. So for about a good month I have buried my face into everything I can get my hands on, and read up on this subject that ...

  • Why Does God Let Bad Things Happen In The World?

    Posted November 10, 2011

Hmmmmm!!! Why does God let bad things happen in the world? Let's see here now. I could be arrogant and say, "let's try to answer this for those who SHOULD be able to get it" but that is totally not my style. Instead my style is to offer what I have found and know to be true and yes I said WHAT I PERSONALLY know to to be true. I have been through...
